Excursions near El Cuyo

There is a great number of exciting adventures and excursions in the proximities of El Cuyo, including the exploration of the Mayan ruins, swimming in cenotes (natural deep pools), visiting cities and colonial Spanish towns, trekking in national parks, photographing hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos, swimming with whale sharks and stingrays, and many more places that await you around this town.

Some recommended excursions are: Las Coloradas, the Mayan ruins of Ek Balam, Cenote Samula, and Holbox Island.

Las Coloradas (Lagoas Rosadas) is just one-hour drive on the lagoon side is the road of the pink lagoons, a unique scenery often filled with thousands of flamingos.

Ek Balam is one of the last remaining archeological sites discovered in Yucatan and perhaps one of the most important Mayan ruins ever found. It is located just 2-hour drive from El Cuyo.
